To Business Owners Who Are the First In, Last Out and Tired of It

How to get your evenings back while driving up what your business is worth at the same time... and the four minutes that show you where to start.

It feels like a cruel joke... winning employee of the month in your own business over and over... but it's even worse than you can imagine. It's a true disaster in more ways than one.

Because whatever buries you is quietly taking fistfuls of money out of your pocket every day, and lurking and waiting to plunder you when you try to leave.

Let me introduce you to Frank, who knows this all too well.

It's 10pm on a Tuesday night, and he's alone at the kitchen table answering a client who could have waited, while his dinner keeps getting colder. His wife? Checked out and watching TV in the lounge, or already fast asleep.

Again...

Last summer he even cut the family trip short and flew them home from Crete four days early, because his biggest client would only speak to him and wanted to see him.

Frank is the founder of his business in name.

But who really owns who?

And is it all worth it?

It's the underlying question many seven figure business owners have when they come to me wondering how to sell the business for what it's worth to them.

And the answer is simpler than they expected.

And the solution even easier to have missed than they imagined.

Which is why the business owns them to the extent it does.

But if you stop ignoring this one thing I'll tell you about, and implement it, you will transform what your business does for you, and fulfil why you started this journey in the first place.

And the beauty of it all is that this one move rewards you instantly, by paying you back both today and tomorrow.

So you don't just get your time back. You grow what you've built, and keep the upside you sacrificed all those years and all that effort to create.

So what is this magical solution?

Well, it's not magic at all.

And when I tell you, you'll probably slap your own head and say "no way... it can't be that simple..."

Well, conceptually it is as simple as it gets.

But as I said before, it's even easier to overlook, and you see the damage that causes all around you (or in your own life).

  • Working harder and longer, because that's the only way to keep the business growing

  • Forced to deal with clients, employees and suppliers you'd never invite to dinner in your own home, let alone rely on to earn a paycheque

  • Spending your time putting out fires instead of on what you want to work on

  • And when you look to sell the company and pay yourself back for all the years and sacrifices you made... 7 out of 10 of you will fail to get the payout you hoped for (or for that matter any payout at all)

Real freedom is choosing who you work with, when you work with them and on what terms, in a business that pays you in full for what you built.

So now can you guess the "easy" solution I'm talking about?
And why so many fail to do it?

If not, here are some clues.

  • Owners who work the hardest so often build the businesses worth the least

  • Your biggest clients can be costing you up to 50% of the value of your business

  • Two businesses with the same profits in the same industry can have wildly different cheques written for them when it comes time to sell, because of one reason that doesn't show up in the accounts

  • Why growth made only a small difference to a company's sale, while something else was worth 25 times more (hint: it has more to do with this "easy" solution)

So if you're still unclear about this easy solution... it's this

Make Your Business Attractive To Sell

That's it.

You can almost stop reading here.

Almost...

This solution takes six words to say, but most business owners don't implement it because they're unclear how to do so.

And this is where End Burnout, Fall in Love with Your Business Again comes in.

But before I show you what's inside, there's a catch I need to clear up.

Because the moment most owners hear the word "sell", they switch off.

"I'm not selling, George. Not for years. Maybe never."

Fair enough. Neither was Frank.

So why would he care what a buyer thinks?

Because a buyer wants exactly what Frank wants. He just says it differently.

A buyer wants a business that doesn't fall over when the owner steps away. Frank wants to step away without the business falling over.

It's the same business.

Attractive to sell and attractive to run turn out to be one job, not two... and almost nobody notices, because brokers sell you one half and coaches sell you the other.

So every time Frank makes the business more attractive to a buyer, he gets something back today. An evening, a weekend, a holiday where the phone stays in the drawer. And the business is worth more at the same time.

He doesn't have to sell to collect. The first payday arrives the week he starts.

Those wildly different cheques

Remember the two businesses with the same profits?

When a buyer looks at Frank's business, he doesn't ask how hard Frank works. He asks what happens to the profit when Frank steps away.

If the answer is that it walks out the door with him, the buyer pays less... or walks away himself, and Frank gets nothing.

John Warrillow, the best-selling author of Built to Sell, found this by surveying over 80,000 companies through his Value Builder System™ and found that owners whose businesses run without them draw offers more than 50% higher than owners whose businesses depend on them. To put this in day to day terms, you could have two businesses each making $1 million in profit, but one owner would get $1.5 million more when selling the company.

That gap never shows up in the accounts. It's a market pattern, not a valuation of Frank's business, but it's what Frank is being priced against right now.

And that biggest client who dragged him home from Crete? If he only wants Frank, a buyer doesn't see a loyal client. He sees revenue that could walk out the door the day Frank does, and he prices it as risk.

What about growth? Surely all those years of pushing count for something.

In CapitalPad's deal data for 2025, businesses with above average financial performance earned a premium of just 2% over average ones.

2%

Meanwhile a business that runs without its owner draws offers more than 50% higher. So the thing Frank never had time for was worth twenty five times more than all the growth he chased.

Now I'm not saying don't go for growth. It's critical to making your business attractive to own and sell, but you need the right type of growth, which gets an entire module in End Burnout, Fall in Love with Your Business Again.

The fistfuls nobody sees

An owner I worked with once sent me his numbers. It was one enormous spreadsheet with figures scattered everywhere, so I sent it straight back and told him nobody could be shown that, least of all a buyer.

Halfway through tidying it up, he stopped.

He'd found $146,000 of work his business had delivered and never invoiced. Sending the bills was his job, and alongside a full time job of his own, they'd simply slipped.

Nobody else noticed, because nobody else could see.

That's what "quietly taking fistfuls of money out of your pocket" looks like. It isn't a disaster you can point to. It's a job only one person can see.

One owner who did this work with me put it like this.

"By making my company more sellable, George helped me double my business, freeing my time to successfully expand into Saudi Arabia."

Shelley Frost, Founder, The Fridge

Why I care about this more than most

I learnt this the hard way, and not as an owner.

Years ago I founded an emerging markets foreign exchange desk for institutional clients. Within three years it was turning over nearly $2 million a year, and I thought the numbers were my security.

Then I was called into a meeting.

My best client and good friend had teamed up with a colleague to take over the desk, and there was no place for me in it. Everything I'd built carried on the next morning without me. It had never been mine.

That was more than ten years ago, and in truth I have never fully recovered what I lost.

Since then, I've worked in M&A and advised owners full time on building valuable companies since 2020. I'm a certified Value Builder Advisor, and I host the M&A Deep Dive in Dubai, a curated group of M&A advisors who meet every month to build an ecosystem for SME owners who are too small (think less than $50 million USD revenue) and ignored by the traditional players.

And I'll admit something.

I don't end up closing many deals.

You know why?

Because 9 out of 10 of my clients stopped wanting to sell once they went through my program.

The business became easier and more enjoyable to run and they could step back from the day to day grind grow it without burying them.

They fell in love with their business again... which is where this programme gets its name.

So why a programme for six words?

Because "make your business attractive to sell" happens in four places, and a buyer checks every one of them before he writes a cheque.

How risky is it? Where is the real growth? Does it run without you? Is any of it written down?

Each one you fall short is where you get buried and your evenings disappear.

End Burnout, Fall in Love with Your Business Again takes you through all four, in the order your business needs them.

You start with your Double A Score. It takes about four minutes, gives you one number out of 100, and tells you which of the four keys is costing you most. That's what you open first.

And then the four keys or modules in order

MODULE 1: RISK - From Chaos to Control
"Would someone be comfortable investing their life savings in your business

Investors pay a premium for businesses that have predictable cash flow and growth, and so does your peace of mind. Learn how to manage your risk and you not only stop the daily cycle of putting out one fire after another, but drive up the value of your business by leaps and bounds

  • Why your business is probably the riskiest thing you own. Riskier than your property, your shares, even that crypto you don't talk about. And the one risk on the list that has your name on it.

  • The 10 minute check that shows which of the 30 different risks are robbing you of your evenings. Most owners expect the worst one to be the market. It's usually sitting in their own diary.

  • The sentence I make every owner write on a Post-it before we talk numbers. Once it sinks in, you'll never quote what "the guy down the road got for his" again.

  • Why a buyer walked away from a café that "put my kids through school". It was profitable but it was missing the one thing every buyer asks for first.

  • Three de-risking moves you can finish inside 30 days, mostly without spending a penny. One fixes your cash flow. The last one can often free up 10 to 20 hours a week

MODULE 2: Growth - Scaling Strategic and Smart
"Would someone be excited investing their life savings in your business?"

Guess what… the hustling and hours won't do it. That type of growth only gives you income and chaos. The programme will help you discover the kind of growth that doesn't bury you and which compounds and keeps paying you after the work is done.

  • Why the hardest working owners are so often the poorest. It has nothing to do with effort. Dan Kennedy calls it the difference between two types of payoff, and why most owners only collect one instead of both.

  • Why landing more sales can quietly make your business worth less. And how to spot the customers adding chaos before you say yes to them.

  • What FedEx understood that lets you stop competing on price for good. They did it with three words, while almost every business in your market is still saying the same thing as everyone else.

  • The nine ways to turn one-off jobs into money that arrives every month. At least one of them fits almost any service business, and a 45 question finder tells you which one fits yours.

  • Why keeping the clients you already have can grow the business faster than any advertising budget. It's an area most businesses neglect and it costs them both time and money. Discover the small strategy one restaurant used to turbo charge this and grow their business year after year.

  • The three letter test that shows which of your products or services to double down on. Most owners waste time and money propping up the duds. This test shows you which ones are paying for everything else.

  • Bonus session: Impact Based Pricing with pricing expert Susan Trivers. Sixty minutes on why you might be leaving money on the table and how to price to capture the value of what you provide without the awkward conversations and rejections

MODULE 3: Transferability - From Stuck to Free
"Would someone be confident that you could deliver the whole business, or does it walk out the door with you?"

To put it in simple terms, can this business run without you?

This is the quicksand that traps most owners and makes it nearly impossible to exit out and capture the full value of what you built. This module helps give you the tools to step away and transform what has become a job you can't leave into an asset that frees your time and which others want to own and pay up for it

  • The hidden trap that could slash what an investor pays you by 40%. It hides behind the thing most owners are proudest of, and the better you are at it, the bigger the discount. You will never look at it the same way again.

  • Who gets the referral. Listen for one name when a happy client recommends you. It decides whether an investor pays up or marks you down.

  • How one owner handed his biggest clients to his team without the clients noticing or caring. It's a simple strategy anyone can follow, and it doesn't cost a penny.

  • The 90 day handover test. Score it in one sitting and you'll know exactly which part of the business breaks first if you step away.

  • Why hiring more staff won't save you. Most owners hire without a strategy, and the right one decides whether you get your peace of mind back, whether you can step away, and what an investor will pay for the business.

  • How one thing two close friends never did left their $15 million business bleeding money, staff and clients within weeks. There was no market crash and no competitor

MODULE 4: Documentation - From Messy to Built to Last
"Is everything documented and plug-and-play?"

Finally, after investing their life savings in your business would someone know what to do or would they have to reinvent the wheel and document your processes from scratch.

Getting the business out of your head and onto the page not only makes investors happy, but is the key to removing the confusion in your business that makes you the roadblock and keeps you stuck in that no man's land of answering the same questions day after day.

Here you'll discover:

  • How to avoid becoming a human search bar for your own company.

  • How to get a process out of your head in minutes, without writing a manual.

  • The six playbooks the smartest owners have used to clone themselves for the last 200 years. Every serious buyer looks for them, and most owners never build them.

  • How to start stepping back in five minutes, just by talking

The Closing Capstone - Bringing it altogether
"Is everything documented and plug-and-play?"

Finally, after investing their life savings in your business would someone know what to do or would they have to reinvent the wheel and document your processes from scratch.

Getting the business out of your head and onto the page not only makes investors happy, but is the key to removing the confusion in your business that makes you the roadblock and keeps you stuck in that no man's land of answering the same questions day after day.

Here you'll discover:

  • The compass that guides you in every major decision you have to take. And how you can start using it from day 1.

  • The Asset that pays you twice. The takeaway you can implement right away in your business to make your life easier today and for the day you exit your company

In short, End Burnout and Fall in Love with Your Business Again gives you the framework that my clients used to expand their businesses and make them more valuable. It gave them the clarity to make more effective decisions.

One co-owner described what changed for her like this.

"I came into one session feeling completely backed into a corner, facing a decision I hated. I left knowing exactly what to do, and genuinely happy with it. George has a way of looking at your business from angles you haven't considered, and that changes everything."

Aideen Hopkins, Co-Owner, EER Middle East

Now you might be asking why am I limiting this to 60 people?

It's simple maths.

Every person in these rooms deserves the highest quality attention I can provide and that is best done with smaller numbers.

Because each room holds twelve owners for two hours. Sixty members is five rooms every month until the end of 2027, which is ten hours a month of live delivery from me, guaranteed. So I cap the rooms and members.

From 1 January 2028, access to these cohort rooms will be charged, but if you purchase now you will be guaranteed the lowest rate of $197 per month as long as you choose to stay in the programme.

(Just as an aside, when you join the programme you get grandfathered in at whatever the rate is that day. This programme will increase in price later, but you will always be grandfathered in what was applicable the day you joined. For example, the Pioneers who bought the programme in 2026 before Module 1 launched at $97 get lifetime free access to these rooms.)

Let's make it a no brainer

Let's say you're not worried about the $997, but you are worried that this becomes one more thing you buy that ends up on your shelf "collecting dust". So let me guarantee you'll find insights in it that will help you change your business.

Specifically...

The 7 Day 20 Minute Test. The Start Here module is less than 20 minutes. Go through it all in your first 7 days. If you don't discover any insights or see something that can transform your business, then contact me for a refund. Keep the Roadmap, keep your Score, and I'll refund every penny.

The Score Moves, or You Stay. Work through the programme, come to the calls, then retake your Double A Score. If the number hasn't moved, you stay in the cohort beyond 2027, free, until it does.

What owners ask me

"I'm not selling. Why should I care what it's worth?"

Most owners on my list aren't selling, and Frank wasn't either. But look at what a buyer actually checks. Does the business carry on when you're not there? Do the clients stay when you stop picking up? Is any of it written down? Those aren't selling questions. They're the same questions that decide whether you get your Sunday back.

Do the work for the evenings, and the value builds quietly behind you. If you never sell, you've still got the evenings. And if life forces your hand one day, with an illness, a partner falling out or an offer you didn't expect, you'll be glad the value is already there

"I don't have time"

That's the symptom, not the reason. If you can't find twenty minutes this week, ask yourself what happens to the business when you're gone for a week. If the answer worries you, that's the reason to start.

The whole programme is five and a half hours of video. Spread over three months, that's under half an hour a week, which is probably less time than you'll spend this week answering questions somebody else should have answered.

This was built for owners with no time. The first lesson in each of the four modules runs under ten minutes, and your Double A Score tells you which one to watch first, so you're not wading through thirty-one lessons hoping one applies.

Most of the work happens inside your business rather than in front of a screen, and every hour it hands back is an hour you can put into the next step.

"I've bought programmes before and never opened them."

So have most owners I know. Some of them have a drawer full, including me.

That's exactly why the first guarantee is about time, not money. Watch the Start Here module in your first 7 days.
It runs under 20 minutes. If it doesn't show you something about your own business you hadn't already named, I refund you, and you keep the Roadmap and your Score.

And once a month there's a live session with your name on it, which is a lot harder to ignore than a login.

"I've got an accountant who can help me with this."

Keep your accountant. You need one, and a good one is worth what you pay him.

But your accountant is paid to measure what happened yesterday. A buyer pays for what happens tomorrow without you.

Your accountant can tell you your profit but he can't tell you how much of it walks out the door the day you stop taking calls, or the products or services you can grow that will have the biggest impact on the value of your company, because those aren't the type of insights or numbers they are used to showing up in the accounts.

That's the gap this fills, and there's a good chance your accountant will really like your numbers a lot more once you implement this programme.

"I already have a coach or advisor helping me."

Good, keep them. Nothing in this asks you to drop anyone who's helping.

Most coaches and advisors work on how the business runs, meaning your team, your sales and your week.

They're focused on how these all can drive up your income and give you a "bigger" paycheque. That's what they're there for.

This looks beyond income so you can drive up the value of your business by making it much more attractive to own (which ironically often ends up driving your income higher and more consistently than the income only approach).

We are talking a completely different playbook and profession altogether.

That said, bring your Double A Score to your next session with them. It will still give the two of you something concrete to work on.

"Isn't this just putting in systems?"

Systems are part of it, but they're one piece of one key.

Plenty of owners spend a year mapping their processes and still can't take a couple of weeks off. The systems were built around them, so every one of them still ends with "ask the boss".

The question here isn't "what can I write down?" It's "what would a buyer need to see to trust this business without me?"

That tells you which systems matter, which clients need moving off your mobile, which growth is worth chasing and which risks to close first.

Systems on their own make the business tidier. This makes it need you less.

"I don't have the money right now."

That's fair, and I won't pretend $997 is nothing. So don't treat it as a leap of faith.

Your Double A Score is free, and it takes about four minutes. If the number doesn't bother you, keep your money and continue as you are.

If it does, join the programme, go straight to the Start Here module and take less than 20 minutes to finish it in the first 7 days. If it doesn't give you an insight or show you something you hadn't already named, write to me and you get every penny back.

The only thing you're risking is 20 minutes.

"Let me call you when I'm ready."

You can. But being ready is what this work produces, not where it starts. Nobody wakes up one morning with a business that runs without them. It gets built one decision at a time, and every month you wait is another month of 10pm emails at the kitchen table.

There's a plainer reason too. The programme will still be here after 16 November. The free sessions through 2027 and the Double A Review won't.

12 Months from Now

Twenty minutes after you join, you'll know which of the four keys is costing you most.

Over the next few months you move your Score, and every move does two things at once. It gives you an evening back and it puts money on the business.

By this time next year you'll have sat in a live session with me and other owners every month, and you'll have a business that needs you measurably less.

Or

you are sitting there 12 months later, a year older, and growing your dynasty of winning employee of the month in your own company while family holidays are taking calls in a hotel room.

So do you want to keep doing the same and hoping for better (the classical definition of insanity) or do you choose the following?.

  • End Burnout, Fall in Love with Your Business Again: thirty-one lessons, twenty-five tools and the Impact Based Pricing bonus session

  • Cohort calls free until 31 December 2027, worth $2,758

  • Roadblocks You Can't Ignore

$997 today. Everything above. Nothing else to pay before 2028.

The charter terms close on Monday 16 November 2026 at 11:59 PM PST. After that the programme stays at $997, the free calls and the Double A Review go, and the cohort costs $197 a month.
